This talk will summarize the experiences and lessons learned from the deployment of the MAZI toolkit, in short a user-friendly generalization of the PirateBox, in different urban locations in Berlin, Zurich, London, Athens, and more, and will argue that local-first WiFi networks need to be conceived as parts of a wider social community to be successful.
